This is a symbol that is frequently found in the world of fashion, the music and sports industry, company logos as well as churches and places of worship. It is important to recognize this symbol to avoid any unconscious use or influence.

This symbol, which is often used by punk rockers and heavy metal fans, means the abolishment of all laws. This concept is taken from the Thelema law: "Do what that wilt shall be the whole of the law".

Thelema is a social or spiritual philosophy developed in the early 1900s by Aleister Crowley.

• Aleister Crowley, 1875 - 1947: was an English occultist who identified himself as the prophet in charge of guiding humanity. He gained widespread notoriety as a recreational drug experimentalist, practicing sex magic on children and animals, as well as bisexuality. In 1920, he was denounced by the popular press as "the most evil man in the world" |Opiate Addiction, Morality and Medicine pg 50|..

According to Crowley's account, his first wife Rose, had a demonic vision during their visit to Egypt in 1904. She went into a spontaneous trance, whispering "he is waiting for you" and the one waiting was Horus. Intrigued, Aleister and Rose went to the Cairo Museum. From a distance, she saw a display case and exclaimed, "There he is. The exhibit case contained an image of Horus painted on a wooden plaque. What particularly amazed Crowley was the fact that the number on the coin read 666. Convinced that something supernatural was happening, on April 8, 1904, Crowley returned to his hotel room and performed a ritual for three consecutive days, during which he called upon a higher power. A "non-corporeal" man named Aiwass appeared to him and dictated a text called "The Book of the Law" which outlined the principles of Thelema. |Rose Crowley, THE GREAT BEAST, page 58|

• 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 "The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the working of Satan, with every kind of power, sign, and FALSE wonder, and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them."

*Lawlessness is the lack of regard for any laws and obligations related to a belief. A lawless individual is an outlaw. Agnostics, atheists, apostates, and unbelievers are also included in this category.

In a memoir by Rodney Davis, he recounts Crowley's last days as well as the proceedings of his funeral:

"At the crematorium we found only a few mourners, perhaps two or three. I remember that a German lady placed some red roses on his coffin. There was no service. Louis Wilkinson, who had a beautiful voice, read his poem Pan and something else that Mr Crowley had written. When we got back to Netherwood in the taxi there was a tremendous thunderstorm with lightning, which continued for the whole of the night. According to several sources, minutes before his death he shouted on his deathbed, "I am perplexed! Satan get out!"

Those who adhere to the Thelema Law essentially believe that life should be lived in pursuit of carnal and material pleasures, because we only have one life to live. They equate their refusal to obey the Word of God with independence and freedom. In other words, one should not be bound by a set of moral laws but should legally be allowed to do as he pleases including wickedness.
