Paradise: What you are not being told

What do the Scriptures tell us about these heavenly places?

First of all, it's important to understand that the Scriptures speak of 3 distinct places:

  • The Garden of Eden,

  • The Kingdom of Heaven and

  • The New Jerusalem.

The Garden of Eden

This is the earthly location in the eastern hemisphere where Adam and Eve lived. According to some Scriptures, such as the Book of Jubilees, Adam's creation took place at the center of the Earth, in the land of Elda, then he was taken to the Garden of Eden, to the east of our terrestrial borders.

Adam and Eve lived in the Garden for 7 years, tending it and feeding the animals, until the devil seduced them and they were led back to the original location of Adam's creation to the west of the Garden of Eden, the land of Elda at the center of the Earth. Note that the center or navel of the Earth is also known as the Temple of the Spirit of the Lord or Mount Zion.

  • Psalm 76:2 "In Salem also is His tabernacle, And His dwelling place in Zion."

  • Isaiah 8:18 "We are for signs and wonders in Israel From the LORD of hosts, Who dwells in Mount Zion."

  • Psalm 74:2 "Remember Your congregation, which You have purchased of old, The tribe of Your inheritance, which You have redeemed— This Mount Zion where You have dwelt."

  • Psalm 2:6 "I have installed My King on Zion, upon My holy mountain"

In the video below, we can see portulan charts from the 14th to 16th centuries, inscribed on parchment, with wind roses and crossed rhumb lines. These wind roses were the basic elements used for navigation. How these charts were produced remains a state secret. However, they all feature a very large compass rose at the center of Africa, indicating that not only is this the center of the Earth, but also the throne of a high priest.

Note that this part of the world is exceptionally rich in natural resources. Its soil is abundant with world-class mineral deposits, including cobalt, gold, copper, timber, potash, lead, zinc, phosphate, manganese, uranium, niobium and tantalum derivatives, iron ores, and global reserves of diamonds and coltan. It's also the second-largest reserve of gas and crude oil in Central and Southern Africa, and the world's second-largest rainforest, with an incomparable biodiversity that includes a plethora of rare animals.

The Kingdom of Heaven

Abraham's bosom (Luke 16:22-23) was a place within the Abode of the Dead where the saints and prophets of the Old Testament were gathered after their physical death. They remained there until YESHUA made atonement for their sins on the cross. It was only after the Lord's descent into the abode of the dead that the saints and prophets were released, resurrected and entered the holy city (the Kingdom of heaven), where they live to this day.

  • Matthew 27:52-53 “When Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, He yielded up His spirit. At that moment the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split. The tombs broke open, and the bodies of many saints who had fallen asleep were raised."

  • Ephesians 4:8-10 “This is why it says: “When He ascended on high, He led captives away, and gave gifts to men.” What does “He ascended” mean, except that He also descended to the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is the very One who ascended above all the heavens, in order to fill all things..”

  • Matthew 8:11 “I say to you that many will come from the east and the west to share the banquet with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.”

The souls of those who die in Christ are transported to the Holy City (the Kingdom of Heaven), where they will be carefully guarded in a state of utter peace until the resurrection of the dead. It is only after the Last Judgment that they will enter the New Jerusalem.

What does the Bible tell us about the Kingdom of Heaven?

Satan's most basic strategy, the same one he used on Adam and Eve, is to make us believe that sin brings fulfillment, satisfaction and the opportunity to enjoy life to its fullest. Whereas the absence of sin inevitably leads to boredom and lack of fulfillment. Satan knows full well that human desires are insatiable. Sin, which at first seems to make life interesting, will inevitably lead to desires that are impossible to fulfill or satisfy.

  • Proverbs 27:20 "Shéol and Abaddon are never satisfied; so the eyes of man are never satisfied."

  • Ecclesiastes 6:7 "All a man’s labor is for his mouth, yet his appetite is never satisfied."

Satan also knows that no one hardens into sin at once. It starts with suggestion, which arouses envy and desire. Then comes indulgence, which becomes a habit or a practice that turns into an obstinacy that one defends to the hilt. It all ends with a burnt conscience and a reprobate mind.

In reality, sin darkens and weakens the soul by stripping it of its divine strength and turning the heart away from the spiritual framework.  Sin expels the Love of the Father and deprives us of that close communion with ELOHIM through which we can see Him as He really is: an infinite reservoir of fascination. All that is good, pleasant, refreshing, peaceful and positive comes from ELOHIM and He promises that we will rejoice and experience endless pleasures. In His presence, boredom becomes an impossibility.

The Bible teaches that the physical world is only the limitation of what our eyes sees.

  • Jeremiah 5:21 "“who have eyes but do not see"

Although the physical world retains lots of beauty, it's only a distorted version of the spiritual realm, which is far more real and beautiful. The Bible also alludes to the fact that the Kingdom of Heaven is not a place of accumulation of material pleasures or possessions but is primarily a place of spiritual fulfillment producing the joy of existing.

  • Isaiah 32:17 "The work of righteousness will be peace; the service of righteousness will be quiet confidence forever."

  • Psalms 16:11 "You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand."

  • Romans 14:17 "For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit."

Several verses give us a very small glimpse of the Kingdom of Heaven in greater detail:

The foundations, the wall, the gates and the streets of the city are made exclusively of precious stones: pure gold, jasper, sapphire, emerald, topaz, pearl, etc. As a matter of fact, precious stones come from the Kingdom of Heaven, and what we see on earth are only tiny residues

  • Revelation 21:12-14 "The city had a great and high wall with twelve gates inscribed with the names of the twelve tribes of Israel, and twelve angels at the gates. There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south, and three on the west. The wall of the city had twelve foundations bearing the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb"

  • Revelation 21:18-20 " The wall was made of jasper, and the city itself of pure gold, as pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls were adorned with every kind of precious stone: The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald he fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst."

  • Revelation 21:21 "And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, with each gate consisting of a single pearl. The main street of the city was pure gold, as clear as glass."

The 1st book of the prophet Ezra was partially canonized, the 2nd book was removed from the biblical canon and the 3rd book was not even included. The second book reveals in great detail the condition of the soul of the righteous immediately after death.

2 Esdras 7: 88-99

88  Now this is the order of those who have kept the ways of the Most High YAHWEH, when they shall be separated from their corruptible body.

89  During the time that they decayed in it, they laboriously served the Most High, and withstood danger every hour, that they might keep the Torah of the Torah-giver perfectly.

90  Therefore this is the teaching concerning them:

91  First of all, they shall see with great joy the splendor of HIM who receives them, for they shall have rest in seven orders.

92  The first order, because they have striven with great effort to overcome evil which was formed with them, that it might not lead them astray from life into death.

93  The second order, because they see the perplexity in which the souls of the sinners wander, and the punishment that waits them.

94  The third order, they see the witness which HE who formed them bears concerning them, that while they were alive they kept the Torah which was given them in trust.

95  The fourth order, they understand the rest which they now enjoy, being gathered into their chambers and guarded by angels in profound quiet, and the splendor which awaits them in the last day.

96  The fifth order, they rejoice that they have now escaped what is mortal, and shall inherit what is to come; and besides they see the straits and the fullness of toil from which they have been delivered, and the spacious liberty which they are to receive and enjoy in immortality.

97  The sixth order, when it is shown to them how their face is to shine like the sun, and how they are to be made like the light of the stars, being incorruptible from then on.

98  The seventh order, which is greater than all that have been mentioned, because they shall rejoice with boldness, and shall be confident without confusion, and shall be glad without fear, for they hasten to behold the face of HIM whom they served in life and from whom they are to receive their reward when magnified.

99  This is the order of the souls of the righteous, as henceforth is announced, and the aforesaid are the ways of torment which those who would not give heed shall suffer hereafter."

  • 1 Corinthians 2:9 "as it is written: No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him."

The New Jerusalem

The Bible teaches that YESHUA (God's Word) is gentle and that the meek shall inherit the earth. The term “meek”, which is often substituted by “humble”, does not refer to a fragile, weak or vulnerable individual, but rather to one with a gentle and peaceful spirit, a non-violent person who has self-control, is neither arrogant nor proud, and whose trust and faith in God are firmly established. The term actually reflects an inner strength: the wise acceptance of undesirable circumstances, the ability to overcome and gracefully tolerate unjust treatment and injustice, while maintaining the hope and trust that God sees the “ bigger picture ” and that He is in control.

  • Matthew 11:29 "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

  • 2 Corinthians 10:1 "Now I, Paul, myself am pleading with you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ—who in presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you."

The New Jerusalem is all at once the new heaven and the new earth that will descend from the heavens, the divine temple and the restoration of the Garden of Eden reserved for the meek and humble.

Revelations 21:2 "Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband."

Matthew 5:5 "Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth."

Psalm 37:1 "But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace."

The Bible describes the New Jerusalem as primarily a place of deliverance, rest and peace. YAHWEH is free, and since we are also called to freedom, all those activities that create mental and physical bondages as well as spiritual hindrances: capitalism, slavery, oppression, servitude, sex, etc., will no longer exist.

There will be no more trading, no more buying and selling, no more profiting from the hard labor of others.

  • Isaiah 65:21-22 "They will build houses and dwell in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit. No longer will they build houses for others to inhabit, nor plant for others to eat. For as is the lifetime of a tree, so will be the days of My people, and My chosen ones will fully enjoy the work of their hands"

The glory of the Lord reigns over the whole New Jerusalem. In other words, the Works of Darkness will not be found in it, for nothing will be hidden, nothing will be done in secret, everything will be made manifest, plain, obvious and transparent.

  • Revelation 21:23-25 "And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, because the glory of God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its lamp. By its light the nations will walk, and into it the kings of the earth will bring their glory. Its gates will never be shut at the end of the day, because there will be no night there."

  • Revelation 22:5 "There will be no more night in the city, and they will have no need for the light of a lamp or of the sun. For the Lord God will shine on them, and they will reign forever and ever."

Sickness and death will have no effect on the new imperishable bodies of those redeemed in the Lord.

  • 1 Corinthians 15:54 "When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come to pass: “Death has been swallowed up in victory."

  • Revelation 2:7 "Let him that has an ear hear what the Spirit says to the churches: To him who overcomes I will give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God."

  • Revelation 22:2 "Down the middle of the main street of the city. On either side of the river stood a tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit and yielding a fresh crop for each month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations."

There will be neither babies nor old people for all will be made eternally young like YESHUA.

  • Isaiah 65:20 "There shall be no more there an infant of days, nor an old man that has not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed."

  • Job 33:23-26 "“But if an angel from heaven appears— a special messenger to intercede for a person and declare that he is upright — he will be gracious and say, ‘Rescue him from the grave, for I have found a ransom for his life.’ Then his body will become as healthy as a child’s, firm and youthful again. When he prays to God, he will be accepted. And God will receive him with joy and restore him to good standing."

Ferocious beasts will be made harmless because there won't be anything that causes fear, terror, or trembling.

  • Isaiah 65:25 "The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox, but the food of the serpent will be dust. They will neither harm nor destroy on all My holy mountain,” says the LORD."

There will be plenty of joy and He will eliminate sorrow, tears and sadness.

  • Isaiah 25:6 "On this mountain the LORD of Hosts will prepare a banquet for all the peoples, a feast of aged wine, of choice meat, of finely aged wine."

  • Isaiah 35:10 "So the redeemed of the LORD will return and enter Zion with singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee."

  • Isaiah 65:18 "But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create; for I will create Jerusalem to be a joy and its people to be a delight."

The Scriptures also indicate that those who will enter the New Jerusalem will not feel any regret, bitterness or sorrow for their loved ones, friends and relatives who will go down to Sheol, for YAHWEH will eternally erase their memory from the minds of His redeemed.

  • Isaiah 65:17 "For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind."

  • Revelation 21:4 "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,’ and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away."

  • Psalms 88:5-6 "I am forsaken among the dead, like the slain who lie in the grave, whom You remember no more, who are cut off from Your care. You have laid me in the lowest Pit, in the darkest of the depths."

On the other hand, those who will go to Sheol or Gehenna will not lose their memory.

  • Luke 16:23 "In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham from afar, with Lazarus by his side."
