Why were the Four Horsemen unleashed?
Biblical significance of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

To understand the role of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and their global impact in the political, economic, social and religious spheres, it's important to first consider their origins.
In the book of Revelation 5, it is written that immediately after His ascension to YAHWEH and before He sat on the throne at the right hand of the Father, YESHUA was found worthy to open the seven seals of a book which YAHWEH held in His right hand. All would seem to indicate that this book contained curses, condemnations and punishments.
Revelation 5:5-7 "Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed to open the scroll and its seven seals.” Then I saw a Lamb who appeared to have been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which represent the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. And He came and took the scroll from the right hand of the One seated on the throne."
We also read in the book of Revelation 6:1-8 that the opening of the first four seals unleashed the winds of heaven, which are illustrated by four horses: a white one, a red one, a black one and a pale one.
Zechariah 6:4-7 "Then I answered and said to the angel who talked with me, “What are these, my lord?. And the angel answered and said to me, “These are four spirits of heaven, who go out from their station before the Lord of all the earth. The one with the black horses is going to the north country, the white are going after them, and the dappled are going toward the south country.” Then the strong steeds went out, eager to go, that they might walk to and fro throughout the earth.”
Zechariah 1:9-10 "Then I said, “My lord, what are these?” So the angel who talked with me said to me, “I will show you what they are. And the man who stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, “These are the ones whom the Lord has sent to walk to and fro throughout the earth.”
In other words, the Four Horsemen of the Book of Revelation are spirits that were once constricted but which YAHWEH has unleashed into the four corners of the world through YESHUA.
Zechariah 1:8-10 "I saw by night, and behold, a man riding on a red horse, and it stood among the myrtle trees in the hollow; and behind him were horses: red, sorrel, and white. Then I said, “My lord, what are these?” So the angel who talked with me said to me, “I will show you what they are. And the man who stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, “These are the ones whom the Lord has sent to walk to and fro throughout the earth."
Zechariah 6:1-6 "And again I lifted up my eyes and saw four chariots coming out from between two mountains— mountains of bronze. the third white horses, and the fourth dappled horses—all of them strong. So I inquired of the angel who was speaking with me, “What are these, my lord?” And the angel told me, “These are the four spirits of heaven, going forth from their station before the Lord of all the earth. The one with the black horses is going toward the land of the north, the one with the white horses toward the west, and the one with the dappled horses toward the south.”
These horses are each ridden by a Horseman who holds a sentence.
If YAHWEH sacrificed His Son for our sake, why then would He allow the release of the Four Horsemen for our misfortune?
Because the coming of Jesus Christ to Earth was a judgment of love, but through Jesus' sacrificial death, a further judgment of doom was pronounced against the whole of mankind.
When YESHUA came to earth to testify to the Truth, and to call people to repentance for eternal life, He brought YAHWEH's judgment of love: the Truth and Eternal Life. His crucifixion symbolizes not only YAHWEH's love, but also the world's rejection of the loving judgment of God the Father.
John 9:39 "Then Jesus declared, “For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind may see and those who see may become blind.”."
Malachi 3:5 "Then I will draw near to you for judgment. And I will be a swift witness against sorcerers and adulterers and perjurers, against oppressors of the widowed and fatherless, and against those who defraud laborers of their wages and deny justice to the foreigner but do not fear Me,” says the LORD of Hosts."
John 3:19 "And this is the judgement, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light; for their deeds were evil."
Following the rejection of YAHWEH's judgment of love, an even greater judgment was pronounced upon all mankind: the opening of the four seals and the unleashing of the four winds of heaven. In other words, YAHWEH withdrew his protective hand and no longer restrains the forces of evil. This had the effect of amplifying global turmoil in frequency and intensity.
The world's rebellion against ELOHIM is comparable to a chain reaction or ripple effect where each event triggers an even profound repercussion; and the four horsemen are curses resulting from our own rebellion against YAHWEH.
Isaiah 42:24-25 "They were unwilling to walk in His ways, and they would not obey His law. So He poured out on them His furious anger and the fierceness of battle."
Zechariah 10:4 "From him comes the cornerstone, From him the tent peg, From him the battle bow, From him every ruler together."
Zechariah 1:9-10 "I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white. Then I said, “My lord, what are these?” So the angel who talked with me said to me, “I will show you what they are.”
People are conditioned to believe that YAHWEH is only love, yet the Bible reveals that Righteousness is the basis of His throne, i.e. before all things, He is a JUDGE and perpetually applies His righteous judgment on all actions.
Psalm 97:2 "Clouds and darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne."
Psalm 9:7 "But the LORD shall endure forever; He has prepared His throne for judgment."
Ecclesiastes 8:6 "Because to every purpose there is time and judgment"
Jeremiah 25:31 "For the LORD has an indictment against the nations; he is entering into judgment with all flesh"
Job 34:23 "Dieu n'a pas besoin d'observer longtemps, Pour qu'un homme entre en jugement avec lui"
People also tend to believe that humans can resolve their problems on their own without ELOHIM. Yet the very essence of our existence is a very spiritual thing, which many have a hard time grasping because we live in a material dimension. The world is not in a chaotic state because ELOHIM can't do anything about it; on the contrary, the global condition is worsening because ELOHIM is in control of His creation, and we are in a constant state of judgment before Him due to our disobedience. Understanding ELOHIM's judgment is the beginning of wisdom.
